PETRITOLI OLD CITY CENTRE
Petritoli - Italy - 2009

The old city centre of Petritoli developed during the Early Middle Ages, in a territory with an already widespread population during the Roman Empire, thanks to different monastic orders, in particular to the order of Farfa, that joined three different villages. In this project the integration of light in the urban context has been remarkably important; moreover, in addition to general notions on lighting design in terms of urban artifacts, the need to intervene in an open space has been taken into consideration, so appropriate light sources and luminaires for outdoor lighting have been employed. It is necessary to adhere to a specific set of regulations for prevention against light pollution in compliance with the Municipal Lighting Plan (P.R.I.C.).
